Giving Thanks

November 26, 2008 · 2 Comments

Last week, we heard our new baby’s heart beat for the first time. Seeing her/him squirm around and even lift an arm was an awe-inspiring dose of reality in what has thus far been largely a conceptual endeavor. Kate, clutching her abdomen with pain and discomfort, rolls her eyes and walks away.

On the eve of tofurkey day, I am thankful for so many things. My wife, our boy, our cats, our family, our friends, our house, our president-elect, fantasy sports, redwood trees, bay area weather, the constitution, phish food and self-employment. Did I mention our baby boy?

Sitting Pretty

This afternoon, Bodhi was chillin with his neighbor Adrian. Adrian is 13 months old and just learned how to walk. He speaks with various noises and claps when he’s happy.

In what seemed like an attempt to show Adrian that he too was a big boy, Bodhi did something he’s never done before. He sat up on his own. For a really long time.

He didn’t seem to impress Adrian too much, but he sure made his dad proud.

Yes We Did

Barack Obama is our new president.

53% of us feel blessed to finally have a worldly, intelligent and inspirational leader. 46% think he’s a socialist.

Here in the People’s Republic of Berkeley, we’re ecstatic either way.
